2024 Ford Mustang Set to Debut Next Year

Spy photos recently revealed an excessively camouflaged Ford Mustang prototype. The spy shots are similar to pictures from a new high school yearbook since this is the senior among fresh meat, the Mustang’s intro to the next generation. However, a few words from the people down under made their way to the states, and Australia confirmed the multi-faceted pony will premiere next year (2023). Additionally, Australia also confirmed that the ‘stang would offer the V8 engine found on this year’s (2022) Mustang. 

This news doesn’t just come from any source. Ford’s Vehicle Program Director, Ali Jammoul, sat down with the Australian publication Wheels. The Ford Program Director took a trip to Australia as a final signoff for the highly anticipated Ranger Raptor. In addition to discussing the new ferocious pickup, Jammoul tackled a few questions about the next-generation Mustang. 

Ali Jammoul confirmed that the Mustang will launch in 2023 with the V8. Furthermore, the Program Director stated that Ford is also interested in an electrified variation of the Mustang. Wheels also implied that next-gen ‘stang would not attain a manual transmission (true Mustang aficionados screeches in disbelief). However, let’s not get too hasty here; since Jammoul’s implied that the manual transmission option will eventually fade away rather than complete extinction.  

“You know, eventually it’s going be phased out, right? “But as long as there’s a market for it and customers still want that higher-performing feel, it’ll stay . . . ”

Aside from the recent reports from Wheels, there’s little to be said about the seventh generation Mustang. The latest images of the 2024 Mustang prototype suggest a convertible with a soft-top roof. Additionally, photographers of the prototype expressed that the Mustang sounds similar to the Ford’s four-cylinder EcoBoost instead of the typical 5.0-liter V8, so Mustang enthusiasts are in for a sweet surprise.
