Edmunds Recognizes Ford F-150 Lightning With 2023 Top Rated Award

Edmunds found the Ford F-150 Lightning to be the best vehicle of 2023. Edmunds operates as an online automotive magazine that researches and reviews various vehicles. For 2023, the automotive magazine curated a list of what it believed to be the top-rated vehicles. For its 2023 Top Rated Awards, Edmunds selected the Ford F-150 Lightning as the best vehicle in the electric pickup truck category. Since its release, the all-electric F-150 Lightning has received nothing but praise. As such, it is no surprise that the Lightning was number one, given its impressive capability and versatility. Although many competitors are working toward their EV trucks, Ford’s F-150 Lightning will continue to serve as the epitome of a successful EV pickup truck. 

The Ford F-150 Lightning Is A Top Rated EV Truck

The online automotive magazine Edmunds recently declared the Ford F-150 Lightning the best electric truck of 2023. This declaration was partly from Edmunds Top Rated Awards, held annually. Typically Edmunds operates solely as an online resource that researches and reviews vehicles. Each year, however, it hosts a competition to determine which vehicle offers the best value. This year Edmunds found the Ford Lightning to be the best electric truck based on its capability and versatility. About the electric truck, Edmunds’ editor-in-chief Alistair Weaver said,

“The Ford F-150 Lightning is beautifully judged. Futuristic without being wacky, it embraces the advantages of electric technology to create a better truck for truck buyers,” said Weaver. “This isn’t a lifestyle toy; it’s a working tool in the best tradition of the F-150. The heart of America is in robust health.”

The magazine’s editorial team determines the winners of Edmunds’ Top Rated Awards. Decisions are based on vehicle testing as well as a ranking process. After reviewing several vehicles, the Ford F-150 Lightning proved to be the top contender. The Ford Lightning starts at an MSRP of $46,974 (plus destination fee). The Lightning offers impressive capability and versatility along with its affordability (thanks to the EV tax credit). It comes equipped with a dual motor setup and all-wheel drive. The Lightning delivers up to 563 horsepower and 775lb-ft of torque and has a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. 

Alongside the Lightning’s capability and versatility are practical features like its Onboard Generator. Ford’s revolutionary Pro Power Onboard Generator allows owners to charge various things. They can even charge other vehicles. As for battery range, the Lightning offers 320 miles. Looking at the truck’s interior cabin, owners will note how spacious and comfortable it is. They will also note the large infotainment display and a panoramic sunroof. For safety, there’s Ford Co-Pilot 360, which includes features like BlueCruise hands-free driving, pre-collision assist, and a rearview camera. With so much to offer, it’s no surprise the Ford F-150 Lightning was chosen as the top-rated EV truck of 2023.
