Next-Gen Ford Ranger On the Way

The next-generation Ford Ranger mid-size pickup will reveal itself in Europe on November 24th (2021). The next generation will make its way across the pond to the States sometime following. A brief look back at 2019, and the fourth generation took some time to reveal itself, but the fifth installment should encounter fewer to no delays.  

The new Ford Ranger places itself firmly between the new Maverick and F-150 in the Ford truck lineup, with possibilities of a high-performance Ford Ranger Raptor variation as well. 

With Ford taunting enthusiasts with teasers and spy photos, the Ranger reveals similar proportions to its predecessor, along with a grille that simulates as if the Maverick and F-150 had a baby. 

Much like before, the Ford Ranger is available in extended and crew-cab configurations. Other variations observed in numerous teasers premiere include a roll bar located in the truck’s bed. The roll bar can mount accessories such as lighting and more.

The new Ranger for the US will more than likely use the same engine as the old Ranger, the turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. The current engine generates 270 horsepower and 310-lb-feet of torque. In addition, the engine’s tow rate is up to 7500 pounds for the current mid-size pickup, with an EPA rating of 23 mpg combined. For that additional sense of flair and fun, the Ranger Raptor may be powered by a potent turbocharged V6. 

Very little has come to fruition about the 2023 Ford Ranger. But over time, new details will shed layers on the new successor of an onion. The next-generation Ford Ranger will make its grand debut at the end of the month (November 24, 2021), with enthusiasts stateside eagerly anticipating a debut of its own.
