The 2021 Ford F-150 is One of the Most Sought Vehicles of Q2 2021
Ford has been making headlines with its latest rollout of vehicles including the all-electric 2022 Ford Lightning, the hybrid 2022 Ford Maverick, and the returning Ford Bronco. The automaker has been steadily generating excitement with its new lineup, but one iconic vehicle that has been steadily becoming a favorite everywhere is the Ford F-150. Built Ford Tough, the 2021 Ford F-150 has been categorized as the most considered pickup in Quarter 1 of 2021. The pickup also earned a Best Buy Award from Kelley Blue Book and it came first in the Five Year Cost to Own Awards. Ford’s F-150 is certainly a top contender pickup and it has the stuff to back it up. The latest report about the pickup comes from Kelley Blue Book’s Brand Watch Study. It found that the 2021 Ford F-150 was the most-shopped non-luxury vehicle of Quarter 2 in 2021.
Most Shopped For Vehicle in Q2
The 2021 Ford F-150 is a top contender for consumers. Ford made sure to update its iconic pickup with the best of the best in terms of features including technology, capability, and safety. The new 3.5L power boost hybrid V6 engine has been working wonders with the pickup’s Pro Power Onboard generator system. Together, the pair provides a massive 7.2kW of power. This new feature has been making waves as F-150 owners power everything with their pickup from their homes to wedding receptions. With the versatility and power of the Ford F-150, it’s no reason it has been climbing the charts.
The latest report from Kelley Blue Bool’s Brand Watch Study found that consumer interest in the 2021 Ford F-150 rose 13 percent over the first quarter. Trucks, in general, were actually more favored over other vehicles as 31 percent of non-luxury shoppers considered a pickup truck in quarter 2. It could be the current climate and the shortage of chips that is driving the truck craze, but it could also be that Ford has been improving their reach among consumers. Their transition to electric, especially with the 2022 Ford Maverick, has opened a new pathway for consumers who might not have considered a truck before. Kelley Blue Book’s senior industry intelligence manager Vanessa Ton said about the increased demand,
“As the entire automotive industry continues to grapple with the ongoing microchip shortage and related supply chain disruptions as a fallout of the global pandemic, it’s interesting to see how consumer perceptions and shopping behaviors change in some areas and how they hold steadfast in others,” said Vanessa Ton. “Top brands like Toyota and BMW have stayed at the top of shoppers’ consideration lists, but interest in popular models has shifted and other brands are starting to close in. We also see that segment considerations fluctuated quite a bit among shoppers in response to inventory shortages.”
Along with the 2021 Ford F-150, other vehicles that made the top ten non-luxury list included the Honda CR-V, the Toyota RAV-4, the Subaru Outback, the Ford Super Duty, the Honda Accord, the Toyota Tacoma, the Ford Explorer, the Subaru Forester, and finally the Toyota Camry. Although automakers are continuing to struggle with the global semiconductor chip shortage, many are still finding ways to generate interest among consumers. Some automakers like Ford are doing a much better job and consumers are making their opinions heard. The base 2021 Ford F-150 starts at $29,290 MSRP (plus destination fee). With its capability and versatility, it will likely remain a top contender for some time.
