A friendly competitor is the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport which shares a platform with the 2023 Escape. The Bronco Sport was first introduced in 2021. It takes the original 4×4 SUV and adds increased performance and versatility. While the compact crossover doesn’t offer as much off-road capability as the standard Bronco, the Bronco Sport does offer consumers a powerful turbocharged 2.0L engine. 2023 Ford Escape Vs. 2023 Ford Bronco Sport

The 2023 Ford Escape was recently given a new redesign, inside and out. The compact SUV also received a new trim, the ST-Line. The compact SUV arrives with a 250 horsepower 2.0L EcoBoost engine that pairs with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Consumers can also opt for hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions, which feature various EV modes like Auto EV, EV Now, EV Later, and EV Charge. As for the 2023 Bronco Sport, the compact SUV adds increased performance to the original 4×4 Bronco. The Bronco Sport is available with either a 181 horsepower turbo 1.5L or a 245 horsepower turbo 2.0L. The SUV also utilizes all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. This provides the Bronco Sport with smooth handling. The SUV also has a lifted suspension and all-terrain tires that allow drivers to tackle terrain and trails. About the 2023 Escape and 2023 Bronco Sport, Ford Brand Manager Adrienne Zaski said,

“With Bronco Sport and the new Escape, we feel we can provide a new point of view for those customers. For Escape, those customers want a getaway vehicle. And I mean that as a night in the town with their friends or you’re pulling into your driveway after a long day at work, turn off the vehicle, and you just take a deep breath because you have to escape for just a minute. As for the Bronco customers, they want their vehicle to take them on an adventure and go off-road. We have two options in our portfolios to speak to those customers, so they feel like they’re breaking out of that sea of sameness,” said Adrienne Zaski.

The 2023 Ford Escape and the 2023 Bronco Sport offer unique characteristics for all consumers. The Escape features a restyled interior with upscale materials on the door panels, seat trims, and steering wheel. The compact SUV also offers a 13.2-inch infotainment screen and driver assist features like adaptive cruise control, predictive speed assist, and a 360-degree camera. The 2023 Bronco Sport provides owners with a spacious interior cabin with enough room to fit outdoor equipment. The compact SUV also features an 8-inch touchscreen and offers safety features like blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control. The 2023 Ford Escape starts at an MSRP of $27,500 (plus destination fee), while the 2023 Bronco Sport starts at $29,215 (plus destination fee). Both are highly versatile SUVs with a lot to offer.
