Mustang GT4
The Mustang GT4 is the latest in the Blue Oval’s motorsports efforts, dubbed “Ford vs. Everyone” by Jim Farley, president and CEO of Ford. It’s primarily based on the all-new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse, similar to the Mustang GT3.
“The Mustang GT4 is a key member of our motorsports lineup. Its placement between the Mustang GT3 and soon-to-be-unveiled Mustang Dark Horse R keeps the brand in competition at all levels of on-track performance and is an important part of our customer racing program. With this new version, based off the seventh generation’s new Dark Horse model, we’ve upped the game and are ready to challenge an entire world of competitors.” – Mark Rushbrook, Global Director, Ford Performance Motorsports
With the cutting-edge Mustang GT4, Ford Performance further expands its robust partnership with Multimatic to be able to assemble every Mustang GT4. The Ford Coyote, primarily based on a V8 race engine in the Mustang GT4, is developed completely in-house through Ford Performance, and will be assembled through Ford in Dearborn, Michigan.

We’ve got a great team, and I’m excited for Mustang fans to see the Mustang GT4 in action.” -Christian Hertrich, Motorsports powertrain manager, Ford Performance.
The Mustang GT4 race car additionally features Multimatic DSSV dampers, a Holinger dog-ring gearbox, paddle shifters with pneumatic actuation, and natural fiber frame panels, in addition to a completely specific aero package deal developed to satisfy GT4 category targets.
