Ford doesn’t waste time celebrating the past; the automaker of the year presses the gas to full throttle as it extends its electric lineup. The Blue Oval’s F-150 Lightning was a tremendous victory for the automaker when it premiered. In addition, the American automaker expects to capture that same thunder with a new electric pickup for 2025. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of details to reveal about the prospective pickup, but the future electric vehicle will debut alongside the upcoming Mustang Mach-E, Explorer EV, and F-150 Lightning. Furthermore, Ford’s all-electric lineup is transitioning into a flawless operation toward the automaker’s sustainability goals.

In April of 2022, Ford CEO, Jim Farley, hinted at a potential “Blue Oval City campus” in Tenessee. The Blue Oval’s future electric pickup will generate an “all-new” nameplate. In addition to the new nameplate, the pickup will not be a revamped Lightning variation. Moreover, Farley plans for all of Ford’s electric vehicles to strengthen the automaker’s appeal as a trailblazer in EV pickups

“While details are scarce, it could be a distinctly styled full-size pickup under the F-Series umbrella that would be marketed more toward retail buyers while the traditional Lightning made in Michigan would be focused on commercial sales.”

Even though Ford has no plans to electrify the Maverick and the iconic Bronco, both vehicles solidify the Blue Oval’s enthusiasm through this electric transition. A report from the Blue Oval revealed the automaker’s intention to commence assemblage of its Explorer EV by the closing of 2024. In addition, the all-electric Ford Explorer will come to life at the automaker’s Oakville, Ontario, factory. Moreover, the Oakville facility will transition into an EV-only factory, and the traditional ICE-engined Edge and Lincoln Nautilus will need to find new assembly homes.

Farley hinted at a potential all-electric model of the Ford Bronco and Maverick. Nonetheless, at this moment, enthusiasts are hopeful for a hybrid variation of the Bronco to demonstrate to Jeep Wrangler 4xe fans a vehicle with actual performance. Furthermore, PHEV (plug-in hybrid) models of the Bronco Sport and Ranger are also brewing.
