The next-generation 2024 Ford Mustang was recently revealed at the 2022 Detroit Auto Show. The seventh generation pony sports car was showcased along with other vehicles like the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Bronco Raptor. Set to arrive with new technology and a brand-new look, the Ford Mustang is expected to offer similar standards as the high-performance Raptor family. Lately, Ford has been placing more emphasis on its electric lineup. Immense success with the F-150 Lightning and Mach-E has spurred the Blue Oval to continue with EVs like the Ford Maverick and Ranger Lightning. Despite its EV focus, Ford still has a fondness for its iconic pony. The 2024 Mustang will offer consumers a fresh spin on the renowned muscle car. We’ll take a closer look at the next-generation Mustang and see what consumers can expect.

What to Expect from the 2024 Ford Mustang

Ford recently unveiled the 2024 Ford Mustang at the 2022 Detroit Auto Show. The Blue Oval also showed off its high-performance Ford Raptor R and Bronco Raptor. Set to match the high energy of the Raptor lineup, the 2024 Mustang will likely arrive with a powerful 5.0L V8 engine. The pony sports car will also probably offer a turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost engine. These engines will come paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Looking at the 2024 Mustang’s exterior, it’s clear that the pony muscle car has received several new touches. Instead of completely redesigning the Mustang, Ford built upon the familiar style many have come to love. The seventh-generation Mustang features a more prominent trapezoidal front grille with straight lines that give the muscle car a more upright appearance. The Mustang also features its signature three-bar tail lights along with new lines in the rear that cut inward on the rear fascia.

Inside the 2024 Mustang, consumers will find a more modern interior cabin with advanced tech. The pony sports car arrives with a large 13.2-inch center display connecting the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen. Buttons are still an option for the climate controls, and leather seats with red contrast stitching accentuate the car’s aesthetic. The Mustang also features an electronic parking brake now. While some drivers may find this disappointing, Ford has included a drift brake on GT models. This specially designed drift brake applies more pressure than mechanical hand brakes, so it serves as a stand-in for would-be drifters. We’ll stay tuned for more information, but so far, the 2024 Ford Mustang will continue to uphold its strong legacy.
