Ford recently unveiled the first standard full hybrid 2022 Ford Maverick. Touted as a powerful compact pickup, the Ford Maverick presents pickup fans with a vehicle capable of towing and hauling all while being environmentally friendly. The hybrid pickup features the latest in driver-assist technology and infotainment. Premium features come equipped in higher-level trims like the 2022 Ford Maverick XL and XLT trims, but the base 2022 Ford Maverick will feature a standard infotainment system known as the Connected Touch Radio.

Connected Touch Radio

The 2022 Ford Maverick comes equipped with a host of driver-assist safety and technology features. Some of these include Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 Technology and Ford’s SYNC® 3 technology. Some premium features like SYNC 3 are only available with optional luxury packages like the Lariat-trimmed 2022 Maverick. Pick-up fans can still rejoice, however, as the base 2022 Ford Maverick still offers consumers quality technology services and features.

Similar to the SYNC 3 infotainment system is the Connected Touch Radio which comes equipped in the base 2022 Ford Maverick. Ford refers to the standard infotainment system as an 8-inch center stack screen, but the Connected Touch Radio provides consumers with a plethora of features. Some of these include 911 assist which automatically dials 911 if airbags are deployed and Applink which works as Ford’s software architecture. Applink allows certain apps to run on Ford vehicle’s infotainment systems. It works with connected phones via Bluetooth. This Bluetooth feature works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and it enables voice assistance for hands-free calling.

The base infotainment system inside the 2022 Ford Maverick does differ slightly from the more premium SYNC 3 system with regard to voice capabilities. The SYNC 3 system allows drivers to change radio stations, Sirius XM channels, and climate settings using their voice. Ford drivers can also do the same with their media devices. Another area where the two infotainment systems differ is with wireless capabilities. The SYNC 3 system allows drivers to use their phones to wirelessly make calls and have text messages read back to them. These all may seem like handy conveniences, but if the upgraded package deal for the 2022 Ford Maverick isn’t up your alley, you don’t have to worry about being left in the technological dust.

The base trim 2022 Ford Maverick will be available in the fall of 2021 at an MSRP of $19,995 (plus destination fees). Those looking to upgrade certain features like the infotainment system can opt for a Maverick XLT or Maverick Lariat trim, depending on preference.
