Ford has already ventured into the electric vehicle market with the Mustang Mach-E. Now, the company is expanding its reach with a new electric bike inspired by the classic Mustang. In collaboration with e-bike manufacturer N+, Ford will release two new bikes modeled after the Mustang and Bronco, with deliveries expected later this year (2024).

Though these e-bikes don’t rival the power and performance of their full-sized counterparts, they offer a thrilling ride experience that honors the legacy of the Mustang and Bronco. The new electric bike intends to capture these iconic vehicles’ adventurous spirit and excitement, and the new e-bikes allow riders to feel the exhilaration typically associated with Ford’s legendary models, now from the comfort of a bicycle seat.

The Bronco and Mustang bikes have a 750-watt hub-mounted motor, delivering 85 Newton meters of torque and reaching a top speed of 28 mph. With a range of about 60 miles, the bikes are practical for longer rides, and their batteries recharge in just three and a half hours. They also feature four-piston hydraulic brakes and a full-color LCD, providing essential information such as speed, range, and battery life, making them as functional as they are stylish.

The Bronco bike stands out with its GOAT (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) dual suspension system and a motorcycle-inspired seat, priced at $4,500* (excludes taxes and destination fees) for the standard Area 51 color. For those seeking more personalization, ten additional color options are available for an extra $390. Meanwhile, the Mustang bike, available in Carbonized Gray Metallic, is offered at $4,000*, with the same color upgrade options. Further, a limited-edition 60th Anniversary model will be exclusively available through Ford dealerships, offering something special for collectors and enthusiasts.

Ford isn’t new to the world of electric bikes. Earlier this year (2024), McLaren released the most powerful street-legal e-bikes on the market. Lotus launched its electric bike last year (2023), and Rivian has announced plans to develop its version. Before these developments, GMC partnered with the e-bike company Recon to create a motorcycle inspired by the Hummer EV. Which indicates a growing trend among automakers to explore the electric bike market.
