Ford to Make Shadow Black-Painted Hardtop Standard for 2023 Ford Bronco
The 2023 Ford Bronco will now come standard with a shadow black-painted modular hardtop. This hardtop was set to originally come with the Bronco, but it had been delayed since the 4×4 SUV’s debut. Thankfully, the Blue Oval will be equipping the 2023 model year Bronco and all subsequent models with the black hardtop. Along with this new addition, the Bronco has also received several updates including a Raptor trim and a wheel kit for the Bronco Sport. While Ford has also been staying busy with its EVs like the F-150 Lightning, Mach-E, and the latest Maverick Lightning, the Blue Oval has still put time into its combustion engine lineup. For now, we’ll take a look at the 2023 Bronco and see what consumers can expect.
2023 Ford Bronco Will Come Standard With Black Hardtop
The 2023 Ford Bronco will now come equipped with a shadow black-painted modular hardtop. This roofing style was supposed to arrive standard upon the Bronco’s debut, but it was delayed until now. Consumers interested in the 2023 Bronco will now have the shadow black-painted hardtop come standard with their 4×4 SUV. This hardtop is easily accessible and can be removed by owners. With this new hardtop, Ford will be prioritizing those customers with current reservations for the Ford Bronco. Order banks for those without reservations will then open later.Â
As far as its performance, the 2023 Ford Bronco comes with two engine choices: a 300 horsepower turbocharged 2.3L or a 330 horsepower twin-turbo 2.7L V6 engine. Both engines come paired with a 10 speed automatic transmission, but the 2.3L has the option for 7-speed manual transmission. The Bronco proves to be a highly capable 4×4 SUV with its unique G.O.A.T Mode (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) as well as its 11.6-inches of ground clearance.
Along with the shadow black hardtop, Ford will also be releasing a new Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited trim. This trim will pay homage to the original 1966 Bronco with retro styling. It will also come equipped with the latest driver assist and safety features. Order banks have already started opening for the 2023 Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited trims. Ford will only offer a limited number of units for 2023, however. The 2023 Ford Bronco starts at an MSRP of $29,300 (plus destination fee).
