On August 28th, 2023, America’s most beloved automaker (Ford) filed a trademark for “Motor vehicles, namely gasoline and electric automobiles, pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles, and their structural parts,” according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Ford’s recent trademark filing may be related to Project T3, the automaker’s forthcoming all-electric pickup truck. Project T3 will debut in late 2025 and be manufactured at the automaker’s Blue Oval City plant in Tennessee. A new all-electric truck is excellent news for fans of the legendary pony maker, especially given the positive feedback from the all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup truck. However, the trademark’s planned usage has yet to be verified.

Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley, has announced that the company’s upcoming all-electric pickup truck will have a distinctive look, which may not resemble a traditional truck but will perform like one. This zero-emissions pickup comes with a unique and innovative design. Recently, the trademark filing for the “F-200” ignited excitement among fans of the Blue Oval brand. However, for those enthusiasts who eagerly anticipate the debut of this new vehicle, the wait has just begun, as the EV pickup is scheduled for release around 2025.

“We’ve challenged ourselves to create a truck people can trust in the digital age. This will be a fully software-updatable vehicle. Literally every morning you get into your truck that’s built here, it will be better and different, it will learn how you use it. We’re going to send software to it every day, every week, every month, every year to make your truck better.”

-Jim Farley, Ford CEO

The upcoming Ford Project T3 pickup truck is nicknamed “Trust the Truck” and will be an all-electric vehicle. The Ford EV will have a unique feature that exports power from its high-voltage battery. According to reports, the outlet feature could deliver even more power than the current F-150 Lightning, producing up to 9.6 kilowatts of power through its Pro Power Onboard system and 11 outlets. The all-electric Ford pickup truck can be an excellent power source for outdoor activities or power outages.

Recently, during a speech, Farley drew a comparison between Ford’s upcoming electric truck and the famous Millennium Falcon. The Ford CEO praised the truck’s impressive technology and speed, describing it as “impossibly quick.” Farley’s statement generated even more excitement among automaker fans, eagerly anticipating the debut of a new electric vehicle from the Blue Oval. However, it is currently unclear what the newly filed trademark for the “F-200” will be used for. We should wait for confirmation before jumping to any conclusions.
