The 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid is A Thriving Champion of Value and Performance

The Ford Escape Hybrid, in particular, has reached another milestone by being recognized among the most cost-effective three-year-old alternative fuel vehicles in a recent iSeeCars study. Interestingly, while the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring emerged as one of the priciest alternative fuel vehicles on the same list, the Ford Escape Hybrid presents itself as a superior value proposition. According to iSeeCars’ research, the average price of a three-year-old Escape Hybrid is $33,508* (which excludes tax destination and fees), with an average annual mileage of 13,993 miles, resulting in an effective cost of $2,395 per 1,000 miles. Nestling the Hybris Escape in seventh place on the electrified crossover list.

iSeeCars gathered data by examining the odometer readings of 1.3 million three-year-old used cars sold between November 2022 and April 2023. The automotive researcher compared the mileage of hybrid vehicles to that of gas cars and found that hybrids were typically driven 12,471 miles over the specified time frame, representing a 2.7 percent reduction compared to gas cars.

Hybrids and plug-in hybrids, where all-electric battery range is limited but range anxiety isn’t a factor, are driven only slightly less than gasoline cars, as reflected in their similar yearly mileage. The price increase between hybrids and traditional gasoline models keeps dropping, making hybrids an increasingly desirable option for consumers looking to keep both purchase price and operating costs low without altering their driving habits or facing range anxiety.“
