2022 Ford Bronco Raptor Receives SUV of the Year Nomination

MotorTrend recently nominated the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor for its SUV of the year award. MotorTrend is an American automobile magazine that reports on various vehicles across different sectors. For its 2022 SUV of the Year Award, MotorTrend nominated the high-performance Bronco Raptor. As a member of Ford’s Raptor family, the Bronco Raptor arrives with impressive capability and versatility. Equipped with a powerful twin-turbo V6 engine, the Bronco Raptor can traverse rugged terrain and easily tackle trails. 2022 Bronco Raptor Nominated for SUV of the Year

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor was recently nominated for the SUV of the Year Award by MotorTrend. As an American Automobile magazine, MotorTrend reports on various vehicles in different segments. For its 2022 SUV of the Year Award, the magazine company nominated the Bronco Raptor. The 4×4 SUV has enjoyed immense success since its debut, earning accolades like Car and Driver’s 10Best Award. The 4×4 SUV has significantly increased its performance and capability in joining the Ford Raptor family. About the Bronco Raptor, MotorTrend digital director Erik Johnson said,  

“Performance of intended function [one of our six OTY criteria] is off the freaking charts. This is just a pure, unvarnished ass-kicking machine,” said Erik Johnson. “Really, it’s a shame the Braptor falters on some of the criteria, because it’s just so, so good,” Johnson concluded.

 The 2022 Ford bronco Raptor arrives with a powerful 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine capable of 418 horsepower and 44lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Bronco Raptor has a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds. Owners of the 4×4 SUV will enjoy the impressive performance on trails and the highway. This is thanks to the Bronco’s beefier suspension, larger track width, stronger front half shafts, and stronger constant velocity joints. In considering the Bronco Raptor for its award, MotorTrend did deduct some points given the SUV’s suboptimal fuel economy. Given the 4×4 SUV’s high performance, an inefficient fuel economy is to be expected. Starting at an MSRP of $68,500 (plus destination fee), the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is a competent SUV worthy of the SUV year of the Year Award.
