Certain Ford Customers to Recieve Complimentary Tesla SuperCharge Adapter

In 2023, Ford dropped a bombshell, announcing a plan to let their electric vehicle (EV) gang loose on Tesla Superchargers from coast to coast in the U.S. and Canada, starting the EV extravaganza in Spring 2024. As the big day approaches, Ford’s Captain Cool, aka Jim Farley, spilled the beans today that eligible Ford EV thrill-seekers can soon snag a golden ticket – a complimentary Fast Charging Adapter.

“When we announced @Ford EVs would get access to @Tesla Superchargers, I said we’d send customers a Fast Charging Adapter. I’m pleased to confirm that eligible #MustangMachE & #F150Lightning owners in the U.S. + Canada can reserve a complimentary adapter starting soon. This is our way of saying thank you! We want to make charging more convenient for our Ford EV owners, so we’re excited to add Tesla chargers and will continue growing our BlueOval Charge Network. More details soon.”

This nifty gadget is like the VIP pass for Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E owners, granting them access to the exclusive world of Tesla’s V3 and above Superchargers. Ford’s grand plan includes shifting to the NACS charge port by 2025, waving goodbye to the need for an adapter, and giving Ford EV peeps direct access to Tesla Superchargers.

But wait, there’s more! Enter the BlueOval Charge Network (BOCN), North America’s electric playground and the biggest charging party thrown by an automaker. It’s like the “network of networks,” making life easier for Ford EV road trippers, letting them hop from one charging station to another without juggling a handful of apps and memberships.

BOCN also brings the convenience of a unified payment system via the FordPass App or the in-vehicle touchscreen – no more awkward credit card swiping at the charging station. Once in the BOCN club, Ford enthusiasts can pick, activate, and pay for charging using the FordPass “View Chargers” feature. It’s like having a backstage pass to the hottest charging spots in town.

And that’s not all the fun Ford’s throwing into the mix! FordPass Power My Trip, the ultimate sidekick for Ford customers, adds a dash of spice with trip planning, routing, and charging payments, all served on the FordPass App and the car’s infotainment screen.

But the real kicker? Ford’s cranking up the party vibes by boosting the estimated number of Tesla Superchargers joining the BlueOval Charge Network. It’s not 12,000; it’s now a whopping 17,250 and counting! These speed demons will hit the scene this spring, and guess what?
