The 2022 Ford Mustang arrives with several engine choices. This includes a turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, a 5L V8 engine, and a supercharged 5.2L V8 engine. The 2.3L offers 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, while the 5L V8 offers 470 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This 5L is available on higher trims like the GT or Mach 1. Finally, the supercharged 5.2L V8 delivers 760 horsepower. The Mustang GT500 offers this power. Those wanting more power will have to pay a steeper price, however. As for the transmission, the Mustang offers a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Several performance packages are available on the 2022 Mustang. One of these is the High Performance package which equips the pony muscle car with 19-inch aluminum wheels, front springs, an active valve performance exhaust, and a 3.55 limited-slip rear axle. The package also enhances the Mustang’s suspension and horsepower. While owners do not have to opt for packages like this, they do build on the Mustang’s responsiveness. The Mustang also offers a comfortable and engaging driving experience thanks to its modern chassis.

Inside the 2022 Mustang, owners will not be surprised. While the muscle car offers comfortable, well-bolstered front seats, space is only partially up for grabs, especially in the back seats. Despite this, most consumers do not consider the Mustang for its spacing. Instead, they want a responsive and high-performance muscle car. As such, the Mustang features simple controls and switches. Owners can make use of a 12-inch digital gauge cluster as well as an 8-inch touchscreen. There are features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and more for safety. The 2022 Ford Mustang is an affordable sports car that starts at an MSRP of $27,470 (plus destination fee). While there are available performance packages, the Ford Mustang doesn’t need them to offer an engaging driving experience.
